The knots are great, cheese lasagna was the best I've ever had, and pizza was ok. Not a bad value for a family of 5, this has been around for a long time and I can see why.

When you walk in the door, the first thing you notice is a guy making pizza crust. This sets the bar pretty high, and if they had baked our pizza until the crust was done, it might have been good. Unfortunately, the center crust was doughy and cold....nasty. It's tempting after a day at the beach to fall into the first place you see and grab a quick bite so you can go back to your hotel, shower and be ready for the sun first thing, but take my advice and spend your hard-earned vacation dollars somewhere else.

WOW, any frozen pizza at Publix tastes better than this. First took forever for a slice to go. It was burned and tasted like cardboard. Only reason there are so many people there is location, because it's not for the pizza. Looking at the pizzas on tables, they didn't look much better. Never coming back and would suggest going anywhere else. There are plenty of other restaurants less than 100 feet away.

I have two pictures. One of an actual New York style pizza and one of delosas pizza. You can't claim to be a New York style pizza place when you can't even get the crust right. "I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul." (Billy Madison)

Garlic knots!!! Nuff said. Covered in butter and garlic. Browned. Comes with a side of dipping sauce. Great for an indulgence and snack. Mmmmmm... a must have every time in the area. This place is the typical pizza joint. Pizza here is good but nothing to write home about. It more NY style pizza. There is also a bar attached to this place. Great for a snack or if you just need a rest. .....

  • Stephanie S.

Everything about this place is cheap... Except the prices. Save your money and eat somewhere else! The food all came out at separate times, meaning one person was done with their meal before the last people even got theirs. The chicken on the Cesar salad was cold and tasted like rubber, the garlic knots that everyone raves about where cold and stale. Please please don't eat here... You will be sad you did.

I had high hopes for this place. I love pizza. We ordered two slices of pizza-pepperoni and pepperoni with banana peppers. The place was a bit crazy/hectic upon arrival. We waited for a bit for the slices and after watching pizzas going by, I was optimistic that the pieces would be good. The ones that passed us seemed to be cooked just right, light golden crust, white gooey cheese... our pizza was an outright let down. It was twice baked, old, with nasty tough cheese, and had a frozen pizza taste. It's bad when I pass on pizza, and this slice went to the trash. Maybe the pizzas made to order are exceptional, but I would never recommend ordering by the slice. You'll be sorely disappointed.

Delosas pizza is always a busy place and thank goodness they had someone there to help expedite seating. The pizza is decent at an affordable price. My alternative to not wanting to spend double on a seafood dinner.

    (3)
  • Emily S.

Let me tell you, this place is a joke when it's busy! There is a seating policy you must order before sitting and if you sit down before you order you get yelled at. We stood there looking at the menu for maybe 2 minutes before having an employee come over and tell us to just order and they will "try" to accommodate our party of 6. Didn't even eat here because my family was so upset with the service. Worst service we have had this whole trip.

  • John R.

This place filled up quickly for lunch today. The staff is friendly and will assist with the menu, you order first at the counter as soon as you walk into the front doors. We got the pizza as usual, we really like the crust! Today the pizza wasn't up to par. The crust was cooked but did taste like dough at times. Maybe it was the crowd or the ovens....but today wasn't the same. We still love their pizza and the place is in a great location. Still a fan and can't wait to eat their again!!!!

    (3)
  • Jo W.

Hands down, some of the best NY style pizza I have ever got my hands on. Their garlic roles are amazing too!! Usually really busy but I've never had to wait over 20 mins, and I've been there a lot, even at their old location years ago. Get there around 7ish and go across the street to the pier and watch the dolphins.

    (5)
  • Amy T.

If you are near John's Pass and looking for good pizza, look no further. Delosas has great pizza and some of the best garlic knots I've ever had. It's also a perfect option for lunch. Pizza is sold by the slice or by the pie.

Ordered the $23 family deal (large cheese pizza, family salad, dozen garlic knots) during Rose Bowl, but service was still pretty prompt. Light, airy crust, slightly sweet sauce and adequate amounts of cheese. The hot buttered garlic rolls are great, although the Caesar salad was limp and the dressing bit bland.

    (3)
  • Laurel W.

We ordered a cheese pizza, thin crust, crispy, great seasonings. Worth your time to stop in!

    (4)
  • Kathie C.

This is more of what you would expect from a small Italian restaurant. The pizza crust was crispy, and the sauce was flavorful. The spaghetti was good and the red sauce tasty. Didn't receive salad that was supposed to go with dinners but had enough to eat. The garlic knots weren't very garlicky and not crispy enough but otherwise everything was good.

    (3)
  • Bob B.

Great little place to stop and eat or have 1 or 2 while you shop Little bar but fun atmosphere. Garlic knot rolls are the bomb. Best around and the sauce is boss Pizza good, thin or thick either is fine

    (4)
  • Rachel M.

Fine if you want a quick slice of pizza for under $3. You let them know what types of toppings you want and they will put it on the slice for you. Pizza has no flavor though, and I had to ask for sauce on the side. It's a quick hold you over so you can enjoy yourself walking around and having fun with your friends and family kind of place.

  • Ryan N.

It's a shame they call this NY Pizza. Clearly they've never been to NY. But as long as clueless tourists keep going in and giving them money, why higher their standards?? Avoid this place. Just another crappy tourist trap.

LOVE. Delosa's is pretty damn good. Small place in John's Pass and a beacon for lovers of tangy sauce & spices, and fresh, amazing garlic knots. Home grown and pretty good service (bar or restuarant), I wish Delosa's was closer to me, lord knows I might be there once per week at least. And I love me some pizza.

This is a very avg pizza place that serves slices near the boardwalk. Their garlic Knotts are avg as well. THE Place didn't have much AC to cool down but did have bathrooms.

  • Alyssa S.

Cute little place with great food. We stopped here for a quick bite and were very pleased. The garlic knots were fantastic, as was the pizza. I only wished we would have come back again before we left Florida so I could try the pasta, which by the looks of it from what others were eating, would have been excellent as well. Beats the heck out of your run-of-the-mill pizza chains.

  • Lisa D.

Normally not an issue, the food is mediocre but edible. Today was the worst ever though. Called for delivery, part of the order was forgotten and the calzones were missing ingredients. When we called to talk to them about it, the girl who answered the phone was incredibly rude to us and told us if her manager knew that she messed up she would get yelled at. Tried to have the order fixed and we were told it would be several hours before they would be able to send someone to re-deliver the order. We now have a credit that probably won't get used because the service and food was so terrible today. It's a shame because we order quite frequently.

This place is pretty amazing. It is a nice place by the beach. It has it's own character and a good vibe. It has a nice selection for a pizza joint, the usual appetizers, pasta, salad and calzones. I ordered the stromboli with pep/sausage. It was delicious, filled with cheese. The only thing I might add was, there was a guy cashier who wasn't really friendly, he was more like yeah yeah hurry up and order, I don't care type. Looked like the manager too. Anyways I would come here again, just hopefully have that female cashier instead of that baldy guy.

We normally love this place and after a long day at the beach, we were really looking forward to some yummy pizza. However, today's service was horrible. We ordered 2 pizzas for the six of us, but only received one. We assumed the other pizza would be brought out quickly, so half of our party ate the first pizza. When I asked about the whereabouts of our second pizza, the guys in the back sheepishly grinned and said it would be out in 3 minutes. It took another 10. A weak, insincere apology was offered, but no discount was presented. Needless to say, we were all pretty disappointed. We came with guests who have never dined here before. I'm sure they won't come again-nor will we.

Great authentic New York pizzeria. Every piece I have tried was amazing. They even put garlic powder on the tables. They also have a small name brand beer selection. If you cant come down, they deliver!

We Used to frequent Delosas at John Pass for years .. but today when they shorted me 2.00 change back and then copped a attitude when. I told them about the mistake .. We won't be back .. Mistakes are Mistakes but attitude when you call them out .. Not Tollerated.. Too Many Choices ..

First of all I have to say that DeLosa's gets a four-star rating not because of the food, but because of the service. I've easily had better junk food and drunk food, but the service and atmosphere is comfortable and homey to me. I am well acquainted with the area here, and the staff is always superb. I hang around here until the wee hours, and no one is ever rushing us out close to closing time. I've ordered pizza right up until the last minute here. The portion sizes are generous, and there are excellent happy hours with two-for-one beers. I always get Yuengling because it's the only beer worth drinking here, and even that is pushing it. The bartenders are friendly though, and they definitely take care of you. DeLosa's has a great quality for what you pay, and it's definitely the best tourist pizza place in the area. If you want a place to hang around with amazing people, hit up DeLosa's any day of the week. You will be happy and pleasantly surprised by what you find. It's always busy, and they are always willing to offer delicious food after you come stumbling from work or a bar nearby. It's seriously the perfect drunk-food spot, and the beach is just a short walk away.

Once again - saw the good reviews, was excited then came away disappointed, kind of like an online date. Pizza was very average NY style. Definitely lacking cheese, which is a huge fault. The mozzarella sticks, however, were very good. Parking around this place really sucks too. The search continues.

Came back to our Fav pizza place. We were here last week and we had no problem. However they now have a older male greeter who needs to be spoken to, and one needs to respect all ages. We were asked to leave a table because apparently a couple of two who had a table, needed a larger table. My 4 yr old grandson with my daughter asked to get up as I waited to order. We then were never offered a new table and had to sit in the bar area. Small , 4 yr old, grandma and aunt. Not ok with 3 people at a high top. Again we were never offered another table. Very insulting, We just tried to keep low key with 4 yr old. So so upset and disappointed. Delosas, fire the bald guy sooner rather then later!!! You don't ask people to get up as the grandma is ordering. Not ok!!!!

I thought the food was good. Downgraded for not being kid friendly at all. No kids menu, portions, or cups. Nothing to drink except Pop, beer or water. Bummer. Would have liked to rate higher.

Decent pizza for the area. Told it would take an hour and ended up being 50 minutes for delivery. Thought the price was reasonable too.

Just had the pizza, nothing else. Crust was excellent and cheese was good. The sauce however was something of a cross between ketchup and store brand pizza sauce. I have never added shake-on oregano to a pizza until today, but now I know why it was on the table. Would not return just for the pizza. Still have the rest of the menu to try, if we go back during our vacation.

Great pizza-I didn't expect such good pizza in FL. A few months ago, my wife and I were in NYC--supposedly the place with some of the best pizza on earth. Three day we searched, and came up short. Who knew we should have been looking in St. Pete for awesome pizza???

Love sitting and chatting at the bar. Friendly staff serve the coldest beer on the planet. The food is not bad either LOL. Seriously it is a brilliant spot to visit and shouldn't be missed on a visit to John's Pass Village and Boardwalk

I heard rave reviews of this place before I ate there, so I was quite excited and ended up disappointed. I personally wasn't a fan of the pizza. I got a pizza with chicken on it and it was okay. Someone I went with ordered a calzone, which I will say did look delicious. If I ever went again I'd probably get a calzone or a sub, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there again. It is a small sized establishment, so there isn't a lot of seating.

Pizza is ok, the guy behind counter is very rude and disrespectful.. I had place the order by phone but then we decided to eat in ,when I told him of our plans he became very obnoxious and told us if we were going to pay him for the pizzas or were trying to leave without paying. We will never go back..

I had their white pizza and canned mushrooms tasted like a oily greasy piece of cardboard. Then tried again over an hour wait for 2 pizzas inside at a dirty table. Anyway, it's too bad since I live now right by the village.

  • Mark M.

The pizza was pretty good. The clientele is pretty rough, especially in the attached bar. Service was quick and not real chatty. Not rude, but not friendly. We were in for a quick bite and were satisfied. Fountain drinks are way overpriced.

NY-style pizza is just one of those topics like religion and politics; everyone has their favorites and own strong opinions. And since taste is such a unique thing for everyone with a freakin' tongue in their mouth, it's hard to objectively determine WHO has the best NY pie. With that being said, I've been grubbing down at this spot since about 1998 (when it was in the small spot across the street from the current location.) De Losa's (along with Paci's in Tampa) is on my top 5 list for NY-style pizzerias in the Bay Area. Truth be told, I'd eat at De Losa's a lot more if I lived in Pinellas County. The garlic knots and the antipasto salad is the perfect prelude to their perfectly sauced and cheesed pies. Plus, they serve beer, which is something you won't find in a lot of pizzerias. The major pro here is that they use GRANDE brand mozzerella. If you're a true NY-style pizza head, then you know what that means. :) If it's crowded, don't worry. On the weekends, they have someone working hard to seat people according to the size of the party. The system seems chaotic, but it's quite efficient. The down side, their pies are only 16"--not 18".

  • Jeff P.

The pizza is 3-star, but the location and service are 5-star. Great place to eat. Meh for delivery pizza.

Last night I was in the mood for a slice of delicious pizza and since I was at John's Pass, decided to stop and get one at Delosa's Pizza. When you go there, you can either order an entire pizza or just one slice along with your selection of cold beverages. If you do go, do not forget to try one of their garlic knots, you will not regret it.

    (4)
  • Diane H.

It advertises as New York style pizza. That usually means thin and juicy to me. I like my pizza to flop over when I eat it but that usually means it has to be fresh out of the oven. I ordered by the slice so it was reheated making it stiff and crunchy. It was good though but maybe ordering a whole pie would be better. There is a full bar in the back of the place and you can watch the tourist go by out the window. I would go back to try some other things on the menu, though.

The pizza is excellent and the service is usually fairly good. This place is on the shopping strip at St. John's Pass and is a great place to grab a quick bite or has good take out as well to take home after a day of shopping.

After a long day of jet skiing, this place hit the spot. We were incredibly tired and pretty much gobbled down our food. I liked that you get to see the pizza being hand tossed upon entering the restaurant. As for the food, it was a bit over priced for the quality of the pizza. The cheese lasagna was definitely cheesy and a bit bland considering how much sauce it was drowned in. As mentioned by the previous reviewers, the food is not worth the price.

  • Mona E.

Waste of money. A $5 pizza at little Caesars would be better. Paid $20 for a medium pizza with 2 toppings. Paid $1.75 for a few rings of raw jalapeño and $3.50 for a few tiny pieces of breaded eggplant. No exaggerating, the tiny amount of toppings only sat on 3-4 slices of the entire pizza! Total rip off!!! Won't ever be back!

This is not even close to NY style pizza. Place was crowded, hot and everyone was cranky. Bugs flying everywhere...one landed on my pizza. I wasn't impressed.

We were working a booth outside of this place at the St. John's Pass Seafood Festival yesterday and ended up stopping in since they had cheap eats, and more importantly they took credit cards. Despite it being fairly busy, our food came to us quickly and was excellent. It's an NY style pizza, however they don't give you giant slices like some of the other places so it's not as awesome of a value. Still, I feel like we got our money's worth. I had a calzone and it's probably the best I've had in the last 5 years. Stuffed with ricotta and just the right amount of mozzarella to hold it all together. You could've eaten the calzone without it, but the dipping sauce it came with would've made cardboard taste gourmet. I definitely used the whole cup. My wife got a pizza with eggplant on it and was very pleased. They also offer a lot of unique toppings like clams, and you can buy clams by the bucket if you so desire. I hear their garlic knots are great but we didn't get to try them. We honestly didn't know about all of the stuff around the boardwalk here prior to the festival, so we will probably be coming back to explore it, and we will probably be having lunch here again when we do!

Delosa's serves a variety of American-Italian food. The main attraction is the New York style pizza and it's great! The cost is perfect for the portions you get. It is almost always busy here but that does not stop them from providing excellent service.

My family was staying near Madeira Beach for vacation, and we decided that we wanted something other than seafood for dinner. We chose to come here, based on other good Yelp reviews, and we were so glad we did! The service was quick, yet thorough and very friendly. The prices were quite reasonable. We got three dinner salads, two beers, two sodas, garlic rolls and the 16-inch Silician style pizza for just under $40. (And plenty of leftovers!) The pizza was SO GOOD! The cheese and sauce both had good flavor, and the amount of toppings was just right. Also, the amount of sauce was perfect. Any leas would have left you wanting, and any more would have made the cheese slide off. The crust was awesome. Crispy on the outside, soft and doughy on the inside. It was everything a great pizza should be! My dad said, "This just may be the best thick crust I've ever had." All in all, an awesome experience here. I just wish we lived here so we could eat here more often!

We loved the pizza, after a day at the beach, we were tired and hunger. The room was causal and fun. Everyone enjoyed their pie.

Excellent New York-style pizza!! My wife and I stopped in here while on vacation, on two separate days for lunch. When you walk in, you immediately get in line and order your food, they give you a number, and then you go find a table and they bring it out to you. Both times we were in there the place was packed but our food came out in a timely manner. Our first time we tried a small Sicilian pepperoni, with a tossed salad with oil and vinegar. In case you don't know, Sicilian-style pizza is deep dish. It was awesome, very cheesy and gooey, and the salad was fresh. We sat in the bar area because the main area was crowded, and even though we didn't order drinks, the bartender came over after we had finished and asked if we needed a box for leftovers (which we did), and then took our trash away after that. Very nice. The second time we came in for lunch was actually our last meal before we drove back to the airport to end our vacation. I had to have Delosa's one more time before I left! This time we got the regular-crust cheese pizza, which was very delicious. The crust was perfect, slightly crisp on the bottom but not burned. I forced myself to eat more than I normally do just because it was so good! Delosa's was awesome. I would be back in a heartbeat if we were ever in the area again. Definitely stop in if you have the chance!

Worst bartender! Best insults! I didn't even mind that he was a total Masshole. Bar was just what I needed. Cheap drafts, great people watching perch, colorful locals passing through...and passing out. Great little spot to hole myself up in while I was here on vacation. Pizza sucked but hey, it soaked up the beer and did its job. Just with the TB Lightning did theirs. I hate seeing Penguin victories especially when I'm on vacation.

Awesome New York style pizza here. I know everybody says its the NY water that makes the dough so special but it's darn good here too. Light, crispy, piping hot. Too bad it's in tourist haven and you have to fight the crowd to get there. Better to go off hours if you want to avoid it. They've been in business forever and have now expanded across the street to a much larger facility. The bucket of mussels is quite good too!

Rude, rude, rude.... My daughter accidentally got me sprite instead of water in my clear water cup which was a little "tab" right underneath.. The jerk kid who worked there came to my table and brought me a full size cup and told me to pay for an additional soda on my way out... Seriously??? After my family had already spent $30+ here, I didnt even want soda, I poured it out and got my water that I wanted in the first place.. So I dropped the guy $2.25 and I will never go back!!!! Then he had the nerve to tell my my 9 yr old daughter knew what she was doing... ugh...

I'm not a huge pizza buff, i know i know. But i did feel the pizza was better average. I can't say that i really tasted anything special about the sauce. I did really enjoy the crust which is usually my fave part. We had delivery and it arrived fast and hot so I was pleased with that. The tab was about $30 for 2 large pies.

Was it fate that a parking spot opened up right in front of this place? And that, when the place around the corner couldn't take our order, we saw the light and grabbed a couple slices and a beer here? Probably. Because I'll freely admit this is the second-best New York style pizza I've had in Florida. (Not that I've tried them all around the state, of course. Just here and over in Jacksonville so far.) Anyway, if you're visiting and you love good pizza, this is the place to go. And if you live in the area, well aren't you lucky -- you can get it whenever you want. Highly recommended.

DeLosa's is my 3rd choice for pizza in the area. First and second choices are TJs in Indian Rocks (half price pizza if ordered before 5pm) and Original Pizza, not necessarily in that order. TJs for the price, Original for the pizza, cubans and italian sammys. DeLosa's if the first two are closed. I may eat here more often if I lived closer, but the staff is rude for the most part.

One word. Yum-o!!!! Nothing bad on this menu. Definite must try you won't be sorry. Careful with the hell's kitchen hot sauce.... The delivery is lightning fast. Like 10-15 minutes.

When I think of pizza in Florida, I think of your typical Pizza Hut and Dominoes, just some not so great stuff. However, Delosa's was FANTASTIC east coast NY pizza! It was just delicious. I also got to try the calzone which was good as well, just a bit heavy on the ricotta. Don't get the wings, the sauce is very watery and just creates a pool at the bottom of the plate it was served on. The only other drawback was the seating, it is limited, and this place gets busy, so get a table as soon as you can!

Delosa's had a very welcoming atmosphere. It felt the way I would expect an Italian restaurant to feel. The staff was very friendly and ready to serve. My wife and I split a small Sicilian style pizza which was way too much for us. The pizza was good, but I would not say it was the best. The kids split an order of spaghetti that they were very happy with. For me, the hilight was the garlic knots which is like a garlic and parmesan doughnut hole. Very tasty. I think the restaurant is a $$ not $ as I was expecting.

The service was excellent and the location is beautiful!!! You are missing out if you don't stop by to try a slice of their New York style pizza!!!!!! :) Thank you Delosa's Pizza for such a great experience and good meal !! :) Tiffany :)

When we go on vacations, it is a rule that we eat at local establishments. I am married to a pizza snob so when I saw "authentic NY style pizza" I was skeptical. They did not disappoint!!! 45-60 min for delivery on a Saturday night but it was actually 45 which was impressive. Hubby liked it! 4 stars because the side salad was sub par but loved the garlic knots!

My husband and I went to Delosa's because our wait for the other restaruants was too long. Even though the place is perfect for people watching, we found the food to be awful. There were flies buzzing all over the restaurant and the top of the napkin holder was dirty. The slice of pizza that my husband orderd looked like a flat piece of cardboard. We both thought that the restaurant might be serving up pizzas that were frozen. The chicken parmesan sandwich that I ordered had a very small bun, and a small chicken breast that was soaked through with sauce. When I was eating at this place, all I could think of was Gordon Ramsay. Neither my husband and I could believe how poor the quality of food was.

This was either the best pizza I have ever had or I was just that starving. We ordered a large NY style pizza, perfect sauce but the one weird thing I noticed was all the toppings were in the middle of the pizza, ,they did not extend all the way out to the edge. Giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the fact that you ordered your food, sat down and they brought the pizza to you. That's fine but no one in your party could sit down until your order was placed. You got yelled at by the manager when you tried to sit down before ordering.

Terrific New York style pizza! Try the garlic rolls, they are out of this world. Delosa's stays open late too, and they have a late happy hour after everything else pretty much closes up. Highly recommend it!
